LA Making Connections Network:

Community Intelligence (CI) provides facilitation services and leadership for the LA Making Connections Network (LA MCN), a project that addresses the impact of injury, violence and trauma on public health, mental health, community safety and general wellbeing in communities of color.  Using a comprehensive, evidence-based strategy called the Framework for Advancing Community Intelligence, CI supports LA MCN partners, in-part, by facilitating conferences, convening and workshops designed to increase workforce capacity to improve public health, mental health, community safety and general wellbeing in communities of color.  CI also provides leadership for the LA County Violence Prevention Advisory Committee by convening key stakeholders who act in an advisory capacity by identifying emergent problems, highlighting need, discussing community assets, developing policies, strengthening networks and working to change the overall environment in which injury, violence and trauma-related public health and mental health problems occur, especially in communities of color.
